Founded in 1939, VMABC was established as a way for veterinary professionals to share information, address policy matters, support public relations efforts, and participate in educational presentations focused on advancements in the medical field. From an original membership of just 12 individuals, VMABC has grown into an organization of more than 300 members. Today, our membership includes veterinarians involved in private practice, research, military service, and academic teaching positions.

VMABC proudly collaborates with organizations including the San Antonio Metro Health Department, City of San Antonio Animal Care Services, and other animal-related groups and associations to help address local animal health and welfare issues within our community.
